Comedy Stage Play “Mareez Karor Ka” Steals the Show on 12th Day of Awami Theatre Festival

KARACHI: The comedy stage play “Mareez Karor Ka” emerged as a major highlight on the twelfth day of the ongoing Awami Theatre Festival at the Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi, drawing a large number of theatre enthusiasts and receiving an overwhelming response.

Written and directed by renowned comedian and actor Shakeel Siddiqui, the play was packed with sharp humor, satire, and a meaningful social message. Siddiqui’s signature style and witty dialogues kept the audience thoroughly entertained from start to finish.

Prominent artists Rauf Lala, Sapna Ghazal, and Abdullah Lala delivered outstanding performances, earning loud applause and appreciation from the audience. Their strong comic timing and expressive acting added further charm to the production.

The story revolves around a clever con artist who accidentally collides with a minister’s vehicle and attempts to exploit the incident for personal gain through fraud and deception. However, the plot takes an interesting turn when the fraudster himself becomes a victim of deceit, creating a series of humorous yet thought-provoking situations.

Through laughter and satire, the play conveyed a clear message that success and progress cannot be achieved through lies, fraud, or dishonest means. At the conclusion of the performance, the audience warmly applauded the artists for their remarkable acting and engaging presentation.

The Awami Theatre Festival features a wide range of stage plays based on social, comedic, and reformative themes, aiming to promote social awareness alongside quality entertainment. The festival will continue until February 15 at Auditorium II, Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi, with free entry for the public.
