By: Aziz Khatri

Karachi: A delegation of the Karachi Mobile and Electronic Dealers Association met with Mazhar Nawaz Sheikh, DIG Traffic Karachi, to discuss traffic-related challenges affecting the city’s mobile and electronics markets.

The delegation was led by Association President Muhammad Rizwan and included Vice President Saleem Memon, Chairman Mahfouz Butt, General Secretary Haji Nasir, and other office bearers.

During the meeting, representatives briefed the DIG Traffic on congestion and management issues around major mobile and electronics markets. They highlighted encroachments, double parking, disorganized parking arrangements, and other factors disrupting the smooth flow of traffic.

The delegation proposed effective implementation of box parking and single-line parking systems on roads to improve traffic movement. They also stressed the urgent need for road repairs, describing the deteriorating condition of several roads as a major obstacle to traffic flow.

In addition, the association called for strict action against illegal Suzuki stands near Hashoo Center, removal of obstructions caused by bike stands, and enforcement against one-way violations.

DIG Traffic Mazhar Nawaz Sheikh listened to the concerns raised and assured the delegation that, with the cooperation of the business community, a lasting and effective solution would be developed. He directed concerned DSPs and section officers to meet with association representatives promptly to review the issues and take practical steps toward their resolution.

Reaffirming his commitment, the DIG Traffic stated that all available resources would be utilized to improve traffic flow across the city and ensure greater convenience for citizens.
