KARACHI: Sindh Police have exposed a sensational Rs300 million robbery in the city, arresting key suspects and recovering a major portion of the looted money in a swift operation hailed as a major success of the force.
According to a briefing given at Central Police Office Karachi, Inspector General of Sindh Police Javed Alam Odho met DIG West, SSP West and the investigation team and congratulated them for tracing the high‑value heist in a short period of time. DIG West said the accused executed the crime in a “film‑style” manner under a well‑planned strategy, while SSP West noted that the money targeted in the robbery had been entrusted to citizens.
The IG Sindh praised the team’s effective investigation, use of modern methods and coordinated efforts, stating that the timely arrest of the accused and recovery of stolen property had further strengthened citizens’ confidence in the police. He directed that intelligence‑based operations and snap checking be intensified to curb street crime and burglaries, and that effective surveillance and community policing be promoted across all zones of the city to maintain law and order.
On this occasion, the IG also awarded certificates of appreciation and cash rewards to outstanding officers and officials, while the business community expressed gratitude over the recognition of police efforts by both the public and the media.
