Karachi: The Mohatta Palace Museum has launched an international lecture series featuring some of the world’s most distinguished scholars, reinforcing its role as a centre for intellectual exchange and public engagement with history and heritage.

Hosted at the historic Mohatta Palace, the initiative aims to make high-level academic discourse accessible to a wider audience, including students, researchers, and members of the public interested in history and the humanities. The museum described the series as part of its ongoing effort to connect local heritage with global historical narratives.
Curator Sumera Naveed said Mohatta Palace is not merely a historic structure but a space where scholarship and public dialogue intersect. She noted that the invited scholars represent diverse methodological approaches — archaeological, historical, and classical — while sharing a commitment to examining how historical narratives are constructed and understood.
Managing Trustee Hameed Haroon said bringing together scholars of international standing strengthens Mohatta Palace Museum’s role as a centre for learning and cultural exchange. He added that the lecture series reflects the institution’s commitment to making serious scholarship accessible to the public without compromising academic rigour.
The programme continues Mohatta Palace Museum’s tradition of presenting research-driven cultural initiatives that bridge local heritage and global scholarship.
