Karachi: The Royal Thai Consulate-General in Karachi participated successfully in the My Karachi – Oasis of Harmony Exhibition, held from February 6 to 8, by setting up three dedicated booths to promote Thai cuisine, Thai products, and tourism in Thailand.
The Consulate’s vibrant presence attracted large crowds, offering visitors an opportunity to experience authentic Thai culture and quality products. A wide range of imported Thai items was displayed, brought to Pakistan by local companies including Polac, Suree, Razmin, Sohni Traders, and YC Cosmetics, with a particular focus on Thai food products and consumer goods.
Adding a culinary dimension to the showcase, visitors were offered traditional Thai snacks such as coconut jelly, papaya salad, crispy coconut wafers, and crispy noodles in sweet and sour sauce. The snacks received widespread appreciation for their distinctive flavors and authenticity, drawing significant interest throughout the exhibition.
Speaking on the occasion, the Consul General of Thailand in Karachi said the primary objectives of participating in the exhibition were to support initiatives of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry and to promote Thai food, products, and Thailand as a leading tourist destination for Pakistani travelers. He noted that visitors to the booth were given a chance to “experience Thailand” through freshly prepared Thai snacks by professional chefs.
To further engage the public, the Consulate organized multiple lucky draws during the exhibition, with winners receiving Thai souvenirs sponsored by the Tourism Authority of Thailand and Thai Airways International Co., Ltd. A life-sized cut-out of a traditional Thai tuk-tuk was also installed, providing an interactive photo opportunity that became a major attraction for visitors.
The Thai booths received an enthusiastic response, with many attendees expressing admiration for Thai cuisine and products while showing keen interest in learning more about Thailand’s culture and travel opportunities. The exhibition served as an effective platform for cultural exchange and people-to-people engagement.
The Royal Thai Consulate-General in Karachi expressed sincere gratitude to the Pak-Thai Friendship Association and Business Forum, the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Thai Airways International Co., Ltd., and the Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry for their support, and reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening cultural ties, tourism cooperation, and economic relations between Thailand and Pakistan.
