Sindh Education Minister Pledges Scholarship Support at Al-Kawthar University Summit

 Karachi: Al-Kawthar University organized a Faith and Future Summit at a local hotel in Karachi, bringing together scholars, educationists, policymakers, and students from Pakistan and abroad to discuss the evolving relationship between faith, education, and modern challenges.

Sindh Minister for Education Syed Sardar Shah attended the event as chief guest. He was welcomed by Vice Chancellor Dr. Athar Mehboob and SISL President Ustad Asim Ismail. The summit witnessed the participation of a large number of national and international scholars, policy experts, and members of academia.

Addressing the gathering, the provincial education minister praised the university for enrolling one thousand students within a year, describing the achievement as commendable. He remarked that institutions combining strong ideological foundations with modern technology represent the future of education, emphasizing that the true value of learning lies in its ethical and responsible application. Stressing the importance of sustained intellectual dialogue, he announced that the Sindh government would extend cooperation to the university in providing scholarships.

Vice Chancellor Dr. Athar Mehboob said the summit aimed to build a bridge between Islamic thought and contemporary needs. He stressed the importance of addressing modern challenges within the framework of Islamic jurisprudence and noted that the university seeks to provide young people with meaningful intellectual guidance.

SISL President Ustad Asim Ismail highlighted the importance of developing a higher education system aligned with the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), enabling students to address present-day issues through religious and ethical understanding.

Head of the Pakistan Hindu Council, Dr. Ramesh Kumar, emphasized the shared values among different faiths, noting that the teachings of all religions promote humanity and mutual respect.

Other speakers included Sheikh Kashif Naseem Dilkusha, Air Commodore (Retd.) Shabbir Ahmed Khan, Dr. Amjad Saqib, Dr. Justice Syed Muhammad Anwar, Professor Mehmet Bulut, Dr. Noman Ahsan, Dr. Huzaifa Bin Ahtaram Ahmed, Dr. Humayon Dar, and Dr. Sarosh Hashmat Lodi, who shared their perspectives on education, ethics, and interfaith understanding.

At the conclusion of the summit, motorcycles were distributed among 40 male and female students, marking a practical initiative to support student mobility and academic participation.

The event underscored the importance of integrating faith-based values with modern education while promoting dialogue, inclusivity, and academic advancement.
