Karachi: A delegation of RK Sports Management visited the Sri Lankan Consulate Karachi and held a meeting with Sanjeeva Pattiwila to discuss sports cooperation and cultural exchange between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
The delegation was led by Chairman Atif Iqbal, along with Vice Chairperson Irum Fawad, President Rais Khan, and Executive Member Sher Bano Syed.
During the meeting, the delegation congratulated the Consul General on Sri Lanka’s successful hosting and excellent arrangements during the ICC Men's T20 World Cup. Speaking on the occasion, the Consul General noted that both countries are currently demonstrating strong performances across multiple sports disciplines. He highlighted that a large number of Pakistani spectators visited Sri Lanka during the tournament and appreciated the hospitality extended to them.
Chairman Atif Iqbal briefed the Consul General on the activities and initiatives of RK Sports Management, emphasizing the organization’s commitment to promoting sports by identifying and nurturing talent at the grassroots level. He also expressed interest in organizing sporting events in collaboration with Sri Lanka and voiced hope for mutual cooperation in the future.
President Rais Khan remarked that Pakistan and Sri Lanka share longstanding friendly relations, with significant opportunities for collaboration not only in sports but also in cultural exchange.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Consul General cut a ceremonial cake with the delegation. As a gesture of goodwill and cultural appreciation, Atif Iqbal presented a traditional Ajrak to the Consul General on behalf of RK Sports Management.
