KARACHI, Feb 16: The Islamia Ranking Table Tennis Tournament concluded at Islamia Club after four days of intense competition from 13 to 16 February 2026, with a colourful closing ceremony attended by leading officials and players of the sport. Senior Vice President of Karachi and Sindh Table Tennis Association, Arif Nakhuda, graced the occasion as chief guest.
Young standout Muhammad Abbas emerged as the star of the tournament, securing a double crown by winning both the Under‑19 Boys Singles and Men’s Singles titles. He defeated Arham bin Farrukh in the Under‑19 Boys Singles final and overcame Aahil Tharani in the Men’s Singles title clash, while Arham and Aahil finished as runners-up in their respective categories.
Mohsin Raza, Vice President of the Karachi Table Tennis Association (KTTA), attended as Guest of Honour and lauded Islamia Club’s efforts in successfully staging the ranking tournament. He presented prizes in the Veterans’ Singles category, where Azher Khurshid claimed the title by defeating Shahid Ahmed, who finished as runner-up.
National Games champion Hoor Fawad, another Guest of Honour, awarded prizes in the Women’s Singles event. Hareem Anwar captured the title after a hard-fought final against Sara Danish, who secured the runner-up position.
Other officials present at the ceremony included Saleem Ahmed, Vice President KTTA, and Sohail Tehseen, Joint Secretary KTTA, who also appreciated Islamia Club’s role in promoting table tennis in the city.
