DIG Traffic Orders Strict Measures Ahead of Expected Rains in Karachi

 KARACHI: In view of the expected rains and possible emergency situation, an important meeting was held under the chairmanship of DIG Traffic Karachi, attended by SSPs and other concerned officers to finalize a comprehensive traffic management plan.

The meeting reviewed in detail strategies to ensure smooth traffic flow during rainfall and to address difficulties faced by citizens across the city. The DIG Traffic directed officers to ensure effective deployment of traffic personnel throughout Karachi and to keep all major arteries open at all times.

Special emphasis was laid on maintaining uninterrupted traffic flow on Shahrah-e-Faisal, one of the city’s busiest roads, particularly during heavy rains.

Officials were instructed to deploy heavy recovery vehicles in low-lying areas prone to waterlogging, establish diversion points on alternative routes, and ensure the availability of additional personnel to handle emergencies. Officers were also directed to remain active in the field, continuously monitor the situation, and respond promptly to any untoward incidents.

The DIG Traffic further stressed the importance of utilizing media and social media platforms to provide timely information and guidance to citizens regarding traffic conditions and alternate routes.

Reaffirming commitment, the DIG stated that all possible measures would be taken to facilitate the public during the rain emergency. The Karachi Traffic Police reiterated its resolve to remain active in serving and guiding citizens, ensuring maximum convenience and safety during adverse weather conditions.
