Karachi: Chairman Crescent Art Gallery Nasir Javed called on Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi at the Governor House Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where matters of mutual interest, particularly related to art and culture, were discussed in detail.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi appreciated the services of Crescent Art Gallery for promoting art and culture. He remarked that organizing regular art exhibitions featuring artists from Pakistan and abroad is a commendable initiative.
Highlighting the importance of cultural expression, he stated that art and culture are among the most effective means of projecting a country’s soft image globally. He assured that his office would extend full cooperation to initiatives aimed at strengthening the cultural sector.
During the meeting, Nasir Javed briefed the Governor about the gallery’s ongoing activities, stating that Crescent Art Gallery is working for the promotion of artists without discrimination. He noted that the gallery has consistently organized art exhibitions across Karachi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, and other regions of the country.
He further shared that the gallery also conducts group discussions, workshops, and seminars involving senior artists to guide and mentor emerging talent. A comprehensive strategy, he added, has been adopted to support young artists and help them grow professionally in the field of art.
Nasir Javed also announced that a major art exhibition will be organized at the Governor House in October.
On the occasion, he presented an 8x7 feet portrait of Muhammad Ali Jinnah to Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, marking the significance of the meeting and reinforcing the cultural ties between artists and institutions.
