Karachi: Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori has said that he has never been a mute, deaf or dummy governor and does not want to be like that, but will continue to raise his voice on the issues of the city and the province.
He said this while addressing the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Lahore Qalandars. On this occasion, he announced that the youth who want to make a name for themselves in the field of cricket will be able to come to the Governor House and give trials and if they become a part of Lahore Qalandars, they can also get opportunities to reach the national team.
Kamran Khan Tesori thanked the business community and industrialists for their full cooperation in various welfare projects of the Governor House. He also thanked the scholars, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), the administration of the Governor House and media representatives and said that the team performed its duties as an act of worship.
He added that if he is being punished for raising his voice for the victims of Gul Plaza or organizing a conference on the future of Karachi and Sindh, he will raise such voices more. He made it clear that he is not afraid of anyone.
The Sindh Governor said that in the interest of the country, he will keep his political tongue shut as he prays that Pakistan’s economy develops and the country becomes economically stable. He expressed hope that the welfare initiatives initiated for the people of Karachi and Sindh would continue and he would extend all possible cooperation in this regard.
He said that the Iftar programs under “Umeed-e-Ramadan” were to continue throughout Ramadan, however, if a new governor is appointed, they will not be able to continue this series, for which he apologized to the participants.
Emotional scenes were also witnessed during the event when the participants came on stage and appealed to the Sindh Governor not to leave his post and continue his services.
