Muhammad Nihal Hashmi Hosts 30th Iftar with Children at Governor House

 KARACHI: Governor of Sindh Muhammad Nihal Hashmi hosted his 30th Iftar with children at the Governor House, where prominent political and social personalities participated in a warm and spiritual gathering.

Among those present were Bashir Memon, President of Pakistan Muslim League (N) Sindh, Senior Vice President Akbar Gujjar, and noted social figures including Ramzan Chhipa, Farhan Isa, Murad Soni, and Iqbal Athar, along with individuals from various walks of life.

Speaking on the occasion, Governor Sindh Muhammad Nihal Hashmi said that Ramadan is a month of mercy, blessings, and forgiveness, which teaches patience, tolerance, and perseverance. He added that the holy month conveys a message of sacrifice, compassion, and helping those in need, emphasizing that caring for the underprivileged is a collective responsibility.

Referring to Chand Raat, the governor said it brings a message of joy, gratitude, and celebration. He urged citizens to celebrate Chand Raat and Eid with simplicity and moderation while ensuring cleanliness, discipline, and adherence to law so that peace and harmony prevail in society.

Later, the governor visited the Governor House Mosque, where he met the Mu’tikafeen (those observing Itikaf), presented them with bouquets, and appreciated their عبادت. He highlighted the importance of Itikaf in the last ten days of Ramadan, describing it as a means of attaining spiritual closeness to Allah and inner peace. He also requested special prayers.

Earlier, Governor Nihal Hashmi distributed Eid gifts among scouts, boys, and girls participating in the Iftar event, personally sharing in their joy. The children expressed happiness and gratitude as the governor interacted with them warmly, conveying a message of love and care.

He stated that including children and the deserving in the celebrations of Eid is a foremost responsibility and that such initiatives help instill positivity and hope among the younger generation.

The event concluded with prayers and a renewed commitment to promoting the values of sacrifice, love, and brotherhood in society.
