Karachi: The Pakistan Interiors Furniture Expo (PIFE) 2026 has made a grand start in Karachi, which will continue from March 27 to 29 in Hall No. 4, 5 and 6 of the Karachi Expo Center.
The three-day exhibition was inaugurated by Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Muneem Zafar. The ceremony was attended by representatives of government agencies, members of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce, members of the Sindh Assembly, honorary consuls generals of different countries, traders and important figures associated with the furniture industry in large numbers.
Around 100 well-known furniture brands from across the country are presenting their modern and quality products at the expo, while buyers are also being given special discounts of up to 50 percent on various products, which is giving citizens the best opportunity to buy quality furniture at a reasonable price.
Speaking to the media, Muneem Zafar said that such events play an important role in supporting the local industry and promoting business activities during economic challenges.
Adnan Afzal, CEO of Pakistan Interiors Furniture Expo, said that this exhibition is an excellent platform for young designers and architects where they can be aware of the latest trends and present their work to senior professionals. He said that Pakistan’s wood industry meets the needs of 95 percent of the country’s furniture market, while Chiniot, Gujarat, Peshawar, Lahore, Karachi and Faisalabad are important centers of this industry.
Expo Director Madiha Adnan said on the occasion that the increasing import of furniture could pose a threat to the local industry and this could increase unemployment. She demanded from the government to give the furniture sector the status of a regular industry, provide subsidies and remove obstacles to development.
The exhibition participants appreciated the event, saying that such activities not only create business opportunities but also help strengthen the country's economy.
