KARACHI: The long-standing pension issue of retired employees of the Sindh Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority has finally been resolved, with all outstanding dues expected to be paid during the current week.
The development has been described as the outcome of the sustained efforts of the People’s Sindh TEVTA Employees Union. Union President Zahid Taj Baloch and General Secretary Syed Ahmed Ali Shah expressed gratitude to Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party, and central leaders of the Peoples Labour Bureau, Habibuddin Junaid and Aslam Samo, for their support in resolving the issue.
Union leaders said the cooperation and efforts of these leaders helped address the long-pending pension matter, bringing relief to hundreds of families of retired employees.
On the occasion, the union leadership also met Junaid Buland, Chairman of STEVTA, and Tariq Manzoor Chandio, Managing Director STEVTA, and appreciated their constructive role in resolving the matter. Bouquets were presented to both officials as a gesture of appreciation.
According to the union’s announcement, pensions for all retired employees are expected to be disbursed during the current week. The union leadership described the achievement as the result of sincere and continuous struggle for employees’ rights and termed it a historic development for the workforce.
