Arts Council Launches Young Writer Ali Haider’s Travelogue in Karachi

 Karachi: The Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi hosted a book launch ceremony for young writer Ali Haider’s award-winning travelogue “Kachura aur Wadi-e-Soq ki Dastaan” at the Josh Malihabadi Library}.

The event was attended by prominent literary and social personalities, including Ibn-e-Aas, Faizuddin Ahmed, and Tahira Nasir, who shared their views on the book and its literary significance.

Renowned writer Ibn-e-Aas praised Ali Haider’s work, noting that despite it being his debut travelogue, the author has demonstrated the qualities of a skilled writer. He highlighted the book’s vivid portrayal of landscapes, towering mountains, and emotional experiences, making it both engaging and informative. He encouraged the young writer to continue documenting his journeys.

Tahira Nasir emphasized the importance of promoting the Urdu language in everyday life beyond literature. She appreciated Ali Haider’s early inclination toward Urdu and encouraged him to explore fiction writing, commending his strong imagery and choice of words.

Faizuddin Ahmed expressed pride in his student, stating that although Ali Haider has an academic background in English, he possesses a keen sense of observation and a strong command of storytelling techniques.

Speaking on the occasion, Ali Haider shared that his passion for poetry was inspired by his mother’s love for Mirza Ghalib. He revealed that he initially wrote in English before adapting his work into Urdu. He thanked his family and teachers for their support and guidance, acknowledging that capturing the true essence of nature in words is always a challenge. He reaffirmed his commitment to contributing to literature in the future.

The ceremony concluded with appreciation for the young author’s efforts, marking a promising beginning to his literary journey.
