Karachi: A heartfelt Easter celebration marking the fifth consecutive year of unity and humanitarian service was held in the city, bringing together various institutions, congregations, orphanages, and community members to share the spirit of compassion and togetherness.
The event was graced by Chief Guest Joseph Cardinal Coutts, who attended the ceremony as a distinguished spiritual leader. The gathering reflected the true message of Easter—hope, renewal, peace, and new life—symbolized through the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Special appreciation was extended to Rev Sister Fazilat Inayat for her dedicated service as Incharge of the Dar-ul-Sukun Welfare Society, particularly at Lemmens Home, a center supporting socially displaced and orphaned girls.
A number of religious congregations and institutions actively participated in the event, including the Franciscan Sisters of Christ the King Pakistan, SSC Columban Sisters, Dominican Sisters of Saint Catherine of Siena Faisalabadi, Daughters of Saint Paul, and various shelter homes and hostels dedicated to the care and education of orphaned and underprivileged girls.
The celebration was further supported by generous contributions from community members and families, while the Easter cake was graciously provided by the Karachi Marriott Hotel.
In a gesture of goodwill, Faisal Edhi and his spouse also conveyed Easter greetings and sent a floral tribute in honor of the Cardinal, symbolizing interfaith respect and solidarity.
The event was jointly organized by Jennifer Kennedy and Bryan Everest Benedict, along with a dedicated team committed to humanitarian service.
Organizers expressed gratitude to all supporters, volunteers, and participating institutions, noting that the celebration served as a powerful symbol of interfaith harmony, unity, and shared humanity.
The event concluded with prayers and messages of peace, with participants expressing hope that the spirit of Easter continues to inspire compassion, faith, and togetherness in society.
