Governor Sindh Meets Pakistan Burton Business Council Delegation

 Karachi: Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi stated that increasing bilateral trade between Pakistan and the United Kingdom is in the mutual interest of both nations, highlighting Sindh’s vast potential for foreign investment.

He expressed these views during a meeting with a delegation of the Pakistan Burton Business Council at the Governor House Karachi. The delegation was led by Chief Executive Rashid Iqbal and included prominent business figures from both the UK and Pakistan.

The meeting focused on matters of mutual interest, including investment promotion and strengthening bilateral trade ties. Rashid Iqbal informed the Governor that British investors are being encouraged to explore business opportunities in Pakistan, noting that Pakistan’s ranking in the UK’s foreign investment priority list has improved significantly due to the council’s efforts. He added that the council is actively contributing to sectors such as education, technology, IT, and food.

Governor Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi emphasized the need to enhance coordination with the Ministry of Commerce Pakistan and the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan to further promote trade activities. He assured the delegation of full cooperation and stated that organizing trade and business events at the Governor House would help boost economic activity.

He also invited British companies to establish their regional offices in Karachi, describing the city as an emerging hub for foreign investment. The Governor reiterated that all possible facilities are being provided to promote investment in Sindh and expressed confidence that increased British investment would further strengthen the economy.
