Sindh Governor Hosts Grand Easter Ceremony in Karachi

 Karachi: Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nihal Hashmi hosted a grand Easter ceremony for the Christian community at the Governor House Karachi>, attended by distinguished guests from Pakistan and abroad.

Addressing the gathering, the Governor stated that the purpose of the event was to promote interfaith harmony, tolerance, and national unity. He acknowledged the valuable contributions of the Christian community to the country’s development and progress, adding that the doors of the Governor House remain open to people of all faiths.

Highlighting the vision of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, he emphasized that followers of every religion have the right to celebrate their festivals with complete freedom. He further expressed solidarity with the Christian community, stating that all citizens share equally in the joy of Easter.

The ceremony was attended by Yang Yundong, Lance Domm, and diplomatic staff from several countries, including Russia and Germany. Other notable attendees included Khel Das Kohistani, Anthony Naveed, and Bishop Frederick John.

The event was held with simplicity in accordance with the government’s austerity policy. On the occasion, the Governor extended heartfelt Easter greetings to the Christian community and participated in a cake-cutting ceremony alongside the distinguished guests.

Special prayers were offered for the country’s development, prosperity, peace, and security, as well as for the promotion of interfaith harmony. Speakers at the event appreciated the spirit of brotherhood, tolerance, and unity demonstrated through such gatherings.
